Accessibility statement
This statement applies to the AI in Nursing Education toolkit at practicedev.cloud.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
We have also made the text as simple as we can to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at AA standard, in line with the NHS digital service manual.
We know some parts of this website are not yet fully accessible:
- the site has not yet been tested by people who use screen readers or other assistive technology
- some interactive tools, such as the Prompt Playground and the checklists, have been checked with automated tools and code review but not yet with assistive technology

Technical information about this website's accessibility
This website is run by an independent nurse-led project, not by an NHS organisation or public sector body. We follow the accessibility standard expected of NHS digital services voluntarily.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with WCAG version 2.2 AA standard, because of the testing that has not yet been done, listed above.
What we have done
In October 2026 we:
- linked form labels to their fields and announced status messages in the Prompt Playground
- made selected options and scrollable areas usable with a keyboard and screen reader
- corrected heading order on interactive pages
- underlined links that were distinguished by colour alone
- added text descriptions to all 23 diagrams
- removed decorative emoji, which screen readers read aloud, and replaced any that carried meaning with words
- stopped links opening in a new tab
The colour scheme is checked automatically against WCAG AA contrast requirements whenever the site changes.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
We plan to:
- test the site with people who use assistive technology
- review this statement whenever the site changes significantly
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 4 October 2026.
The website was last tested on 4 October 2026, using automated testing (axe-core) on 12 key pages, with no issues found, and manual checks of keyboard focus, form labels, page reflow at 320 pixels wide, images, diagrams and link behaviour.
